HEY! I RECOGNIZE YOU....

You’ve been knitting for a while, small things, mostly scarves. You know you want to do something a little more challenging. But nothing you’re not ready for, and you’re just not sure what it is.

 

WE HAVE JUST THE THING!!!

 

Beginning in June is another project of the building blocks blanket project. It’s so much fun, over the next few months you will knit a series of 12, 12” blocks that, in the end, combine to make a wonderful throw.

 

Jennie will be your personal guide on this adventure that will open up your knitting world, and build your confidence in so many ways.

 

Please stop by NEY very soon and see the blanket on display there. Consider the gain and sign up to join us for this project. Choose your time slot and pick your yarn but Do Hurry we can take 4-6 knitters for each time slot and yarn must be ordered/chosen by May 18th for best selection. We look forward to knowing you better.

Learn basic lace pattern and short-row technique of wrap and turn to create a lovely summer shawl. This shawl is light as a feather; just perfect for throwing over your shoulders when you come into an air-conditioned room after basking in the sun. It is so light, you forget you have it on.

 

What: Crescent-shaped Lace Shawl

 

When: Saturdays, June 7, 14, 21, 28, and July 5th, 10 a.m. – noon

 

Materials: 1 (2, 2, 2) skeins Cozette by Knit One, Crochet Two, needles size 8 & 10, stitch markers

 

Cost: Class cost $40, materials cost varies depending on project choice; no materials are supplied for the class except for the pattern

 

Availability: 3-10 people

The Fox & The Grapes Shawl

The Fox & The Grapes Shawl

Fox and The Grapes is a triangular shaped shawl worked from the bottom up. The pattern is worked on both the wrong and right sides, but it is easy enough to memorize and knit. Photo and design by Lily Go.

Materials: Madelinetosh Pashmina, 360, 8/0, seed beads, beading hook, stitch markers.

The Effloresce Scarf boasts an elegant center stitch panel that is a perfect project for beginning lace knitters.  The class will focus on learning to read charts and a provisional cast on using a spare circular needle.

Learn to make a beautiful beaded V Necked Necklace that will accent your neckline. Liz will be holding class on Saturday April 19th from 9-1. This beautiful necklace can easily be knitted in a weekend with 1 skein of Captiva and beads! Come by to admire the sample and sign up for this class!

The Winthrop

THE WINTHROP

The Winthrop is a sweet open front cardigan knitted from the top down. It features a circular yoke and a pretty slip stitch pattern on the yoke, hem, and cuffs.  This design is fashioned in a way that will flatter a range of figures. With no button holes and no sewing to assemble, this is a great first sweater for the medium skill level knitter. Must know knitting, purling, increase, and decrease. All will be required to make a swatch for this project.

Date/Time:

March 5th, Wednesdays 1-3pm

OR

March 6th, Thursdays 2-4pm.

 

Length: plan on 8 weeks

 

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Pattern available on Ravelry and can be purchased
through the shop

Do you like small bags for carrying your latest project but wish

you had a pretty knitted tote instead of leather or fabric? Now’s your chance to make one of three designs: Stockinette stitch using Shepherd’s Wool, Woven Stitch using Madelinetosh Vintage, or Beaded Rib using Madelinetosh Merino Light.

Optional: Lining with/without pockets. If you don’t sew, the instructor will sew your lining for an additional fee.

 

 

What: Knitted Project Tote

 

When: Saturdays, March 15 & 29, 9 a.m. – noon OR Tuesdays, March 18 & April 1, 3-6 p.m.

 

Skill Level:

Stockinette Tote: Beginner

Woven Stitch: Advanced Beginner

Beaded Tote: Intermediate

Some of you have requested this class be re-offered from November’s Make It and Take It because you were unable to sign up for the original session(s) or you took the class and want a bracelet to match.  The class was very popular! :-) The bracelet should be completed within the three hours. Use the techniques learned to make the necklace on your own.
